Our Linings

Village Workroom uses only the highest quality linings.  We have tried many varieties over the years, searching for products that meet our high standards.

Standard Lining: Our basic lining is made by the Hanes Company (yes, the underwear people!) under the name “StainGuard”. This 100% cotton lining is stain resistant and water repellent. Available White and Ivory.
All silk panel pricing includes this lining.

Flannel Interlining: We use only white, 100% cotton Western Heavy Flannel. Silks by their nature are fine, thin materials; interlining is used to add fullness, richness and body to the panels. Interlining is placed between the silk and the outer liner. Not recommended for use with Black-Out lining.

Sateen Lining: Sateen lining, our premium quality lining, is from the Hanes company under the name “Ruby Plus”. Sateen has a higher thread count and is a heavier weight than our standard lining. The surface is polished for a smooth finish and slight shimmer. 100% cotton, crease and soil resistant. Available White and Ivory.

Dim-Out Lining: Also known as Thermal Suede, this lining is used in place of regular lining and will block about 40% of visible light and provides excellent UV protection for the silk. Dim-Out is recommended for windows that receive extended or heavy sunlight.  For customers living in the sunbelt (FL, TX, NM, AZ, CA, etc.), we highly recommend this lining. 50% cotton, 50% polyester, crease and soil resistant. Available White and Ivory.

Black-Out Lining: As the name suggests, this lining is designed to block close to 100% of visible light. The material is a bit heavier than the Dim-Out. Some sacrifice will be made using this lining as your panels will hang in a slightly less relaxed fashion. The material is 50% cotton, 50% polyester and is crease and soil resistant.
